Group for Defence Technology Fairs

In 1996 a number of different sized companies teamed up to form the Group for Defence Technology Fairs (GWM) with a view to creating an effective image of the German defence technology industry at major international trade fairs. The main objective of the GMW is to highlight the great potential of German defence technology businesses at major international trade fairs by presenting a joint German stand.

At the trade fairs the group presents itself under the trademark “German Defence Technology”. The team appearance at fairs is an excellent opportunity, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), to present themselves individually but still within the context of a broader, more coherent concept.

The Group for Defence Technology Fairs is the industry’s point of contact, in particular for the German Federal Ministries of Defence as well as Economics and Technology. This role is underlined by the visits made by high-level delegations from these ministries.

The GWM is subordinate to the Federal Association of the German Security and Defence Industry. COO Creative Consulting GmbH acts as a fair co-ordinator on behalf of the Group for Defence Technology Fairs and represents the GWM exhibitors’ interests vis-à-vis international fair organisers.
